Happy Monday, babes! Today is not my friend because I was up all night last night on a police ride along with Dan. It was so fun getting to see him in action, but I’m dragging a little bit today. Nothing gets me out of bed like a huge makeup sale. The Sephora Spring Bonus sale to be exact.
This weekend and through today {4/23} Sephora is having a sale on EVERYTHING. Yes, everything. This almost never happens.
It pays to be a loyal customer because Rouge and VIB members get 15% off the entire store and Beauty Insiders get 10% off the entire store for Spring Bonus. If you are none of these already, it takes only a couple minutes to sign up as a Beauty Insider and then you can take full advantage of the 10% off. I happen to be a Rouge member and I can’t decide if that’s a good or bad thing….I’m not even going to tell you how much you have to spend to get there, I’m sure you could figure it out.
If you’ve been putting off those makeup or skincare purchases {like I have} there is no better time than TODAY to finally take the leap. The Spring Bonus ends tonight at midnight and is either in store or online. When I visited my store, they seemed to be out of a lot of stock due to high volume, so online shopping may be your best bet today. And you don’t even have to leave your bed..or house…or work.
I finally made it into the store yesterday to stock up on things I’ve run out of, but I also got a couple fun things, too. I just can’t resist a good deal.
First, the reason I went there was for eyeliner, mascara, primer and setting spray. My previous eyeliner and mascara was all dried up and my setting spray started spitting at my face. Trust me, no one wants that.
Eyeliner
I love a good felt tip black eyeliner, but my last one wasn’t cutting it. Previously, I used the Too Faced Sketch Marker Liquid Art Eyeliner. The application and wear was very nice, but the tip would dry out so quick that I was constantly replacing it. At a price point of $20, it’s too expensive to have to replace that often. She and I were good friends for a while, but it’s time to break up and move on.
I ran right into the welcoming arms of my new love: the jet black Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner. I haven’t used her yet, but I have heard great things about this eyeliner. Obviously, the longevity of this product is what sold me on it. I picked up the regular one yesterday. They also sell a Micro Tip one for finer points and I put this one on my list. This eyeliner also comes in 12 colors {neutrals, greens and blues}.
Disclaimer: if you’re not using Sketch Marker as an everyday eyeliner {like a white or pink one}, it is a very good and long-wear eyeliner. Sketch Marker also comes in 12 colors, ranging from neutrals to vibrant colors like peach and yellow.
Mascara
My absolute favorite mascara of all time is the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. This is another one that I have to replace more often than I’d like, but I don’t blame her for that. I have tried a few mascaras, but the wear with BTS gives my lashes a much fuller and dramatic look than anything else without smudging or feeling sticky.
The waterproof one is preferred because it holds my lashes up better and stays on FOREVER, but my location was sold out of that one. If you do get the waterproof version, you’ll also need the Too Faced Mascara Melt Off Cleansing Oil. This goes on over your mascara to take it off without damaging your lashes. If you use ANY kind of waterproof mascara, I highly suggest this product. I actually had this one in my basket, but decided to cut back and skip it this time.
When I can’t afford Better Than Sex, I like to rotate in my other drugstore favorite: Maybelline Big Shot Colossal Mascara.
Primer
My go-to primer is the Benefit POREfessional Face Primer. I love POREfessional and just needed a refill on this one after I ran out of my tiny sample tube. Does anyone else live off of the Sephora rewards samples? No, just me? Okay.
I don’t need to say much about POREfessional, it really is the best primer. It’s SO good at mattifying and filling in pores for an allover silky smooth canvas.
Setting Spray
Setting spray is not really a need for me, I just feel much better when I use it.
I was using the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea 4-in-1 Setting Mist because I got it in a set with Drink of H2O Moisturizer, Deep Dive Cleansing Gel and Pack Your Bags Undereye Rescue Patches. I really have nothing bad to say about it, but nothing that great to say about it either. It’s running out and spitting at me, so I wanted to try something else. I love love love Drink of H2O and the cleansing gel and have gone through two of those already.
Yesterday, I picked up the Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray.
The Fun Stuff
I have been wanting the following two items for a while now and just never brought myself to buy them. There is no better time than a sale to finally buy the things you’ve been wanting, amirite?
First, I grabbed the Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette. I love the soft glam look and have been in love with this palette since it came out back in February. The Modern Renaissance was my first ‘big girl’ palette and I’ve already hit pan on a couple shades from that one. It has been well-loved and I’m assuming the Soft Glam palette will be similar.
A couple weeks ago, I picked up a sample pack of OleHenriksen skin care and I was converted. The samples included a seven-day routine with the 3 Little Wonders: Truth Serum, Sheer Transformation Perfecting Moisturizer and Invigorating Night Transformation Gel, as well as the Find Your Balance Oil Control Cleanser.
OH is a bit pricey as far as skincare goes, but I found this A Brighter Truth Brightening Essentials Set which includes:
- Face the Truth Cleanser
- Truth Serum
- and Truth Advanced Moisturizing Creme
The sets are a better price than buying each product separately. I wanted all of it, but I knew for sure I wanted the Truth Serum. “The Truth Serum is OleHenriksen’s number one antiaging serum that helps brighten, firm skin, and deliver all-day hydration with vitamin C and collagen,” it smells like orangey citrus heaven and feels so good on the skin.
A Few Items Still on My List
Becca Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder
GLAMGLOW GRAVITYMUD Firming Treatment and SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment
OleHenriksen Banana Bright Eye Creme
Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner Micro Tip
NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation {I’m somewhere between Light 4 and 5}
Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Body Lava Body Luminizer {sold out}
Smashbox x Nicol Concilio Photo Finish Primer Water
I went a tad overboard with the few items I did buy, so the rest will just have to stay on my list for now.

To access the sale online, use code YAYROUGE or YAYVIB for 15% off or YAYINSIDER for 10% off, depending on your status. For in store purchases, you should’ve received an email with a coupon barcode for cashiers to scan {my cashier just used one she had up there}. Make sure to shop TODAY because the sale ends at 11:59 PM PT. You don’t wanna miss it!
I can’t wait to use all my new goods. It feels so good to replenish all of the products I’ve been scraping out of the bottom. Let me know if you picked up anything from the sale. I want to know what products you’re all LOVING!
xoxo Jess
