The months in between winter and spring are so unpredictable when it comes to the weather and it leaves me wondering what to wear. Having pieces that can make a seamless transition between the weather conditions — to layer easily and keep you warm or be able to be removed — is important for these days.
Today was an unseasonably warm day for Nebraska in February. 73 degrees. I wore shorts and I wasn’t frozen! It may have been the warmest day all winter, but it definitely isn’t summer yet, so I threw on this super cute jacket for a little bit of warmth.
Last week, I hit up the Foi Clothing warehouse sale {went a little overboard} and I snagged this mustard yellow jacket by Wydlr. It’s such a perfect transition piece to wear on top of anything from winter to spring, especially for those days that start out cold and turn really warm. The bright yellow adds a pop of spring color, while keeping you warm while the weather is still deciding what it wants to do. If you get hot later in the day, you can shed this layer. Bright colors are also shown to make everyone happy, to cure that seasonal depression. Why can’t it just be summer all the time?
This jacket is sold out, but I have linked some similar transition pieces from Foi below.
Shorts are Sabo Skirt (similar ones here and here) | Top from Loft | Necklace from Stargaze Jewelry | Wedges from Charlotte Russe.
